Doncaster Airport Update

A fantastic morning with #TeamDoncaster and #TeamSouthYorkshire welcoming the Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner to 2Excel Special Missions as the Labour Government gives its full support to the re- opening of our Airport.

I am absolutely delighted that as part of a major economic boost to Yorkshire the government is backing £30million of devolved funding into Doncaster Airport. This will support critical infrastructure and the creation of a sustainable aviation hub, driving regional prosperity and jobs for our area.

The Labour government has also established a new working group with Doncaster Council, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and key government departments to support local efforts in re- opening the airport and the wider economic benefits it can bring to our city and region.

Huge thanks must go to Ros Jones and Doncaster council have done an incredible job to get us to this point.
