2Excel Plane Arrives at Doncaster Airport

A momentous morning joining Ros Jones, Lee Pitcher MP, Ed Miliband MP, John Healey MP, Jo White for Bassetlaw MP, Deputy Mayor Glyn Jones and 2Excel Aviation to witness the first plane land on our runway for two years!

A huge thanks to 2Excel for hosting us, they use their base at Doncaster airport to lead groundbreaking work assisting search and rescue, cleaning up ocean oil spills and working alongside our armed forces.

Mayor Ros Jones and the team at Doncaster Council have done an incredible job getting us to this point. As well as working towards passenger flights in 2026, the re-opening of our airport is vital for our local economy bringing good jobs to our area. We will all be working together over the coming weeks, months and years to ensure that the airport takes off and is a success for our city and our region.
